This Astron solar-powered timepiece is themed ‘Solidity, ‘symbolising Seiko’s innovative spirit which has been present since the brand’s beginnings in 1881. Within a series taking inspiration from the solar system, this piece is inspired specifically by Earth.In a new futuristic design, this solar watch features a two-piece aluminium and super-hard coated titanium bezel. Crafted in a super-hard titanium case, this watch features a distinctive blue pressed pattern dial under a sapphire crystal glass, inspired by the watery surface of planet Earth – a process particularly difficult to achieve on a solar cell, without reducing its charge efficiency.The watch is powered by an in-house built 3X62 Solar-powered movement with GPS functionality, so it has exceptional accuracy being updated remotely by GPS satellite when the wearer moves between time zones.
